With Election Day at our doorstep, it is a crucial time to carefully consider what you hear and read. It is vital to be wise and measured in our responses. Regardless of what the legacy media may tell you, this is neither a time for despair nor “hope-ium”.
Despair will incline us to apathy and inaction with an idea that our actions don't matter. They do matter. Regardless of how the election proceeds, doing what is right matters. Standing for truth matters. Local elections and small wins matter. They make a difference in the lives of you, your family, and community.
“Hope-ium” (hope opium), or being blindly hopeful, is equally unhelpful. It also leads to inaction, because we believe everything will be just fine, regardless of what we do. But our choices do matter. Our stepping up, volunteering, voting, sharing truth all matters. If everyone believes that someone else is solving the problem, no problems will be solved. When we notice an issue, we should consider what we can do to improve the situation. Perhaps it is a small act. Good. Do that. Small steps make a world of difference.
We also want to wisely consider our actions. Do not be drawn into emotional outbursts, but rather measure your responses carefully. Many legacy media sources would like nothing better than to report on foolhardy and detrimental action. Do not satisfy them. Do what is right. Do it with wisdom. Act with discernment and discretion.
Do not be deceived. Regardless of the outcome of this election, there is still much to be done. We will need clear minds and steadfast hearts to boldly navigate the lies, speak the truth, and take right actions. You can start today by making sure your vote is in. You can follow up with family and friends to see if they need help navigating registration, understanding who is running, what the propositions are about, and where to take their ballots.
Have questions? Contact Us for more information. Our Voter's Guide can also help! And remember, in California, you can register even on election day. It's not too late! Vote, and be prepared to navigate the next few days and weeks with wisdom, good judgement, and right action.
