Congratulations 47th President Trump!
We offer our heartfelt congratulations to Donald J. Trump, our 45th President, who will be returning to the White House as our 47th President, accompanied by his running mate, soon to be Vice President, J.D. Vance! His victory was decisive, not only winning all seven swing states, but also turning multiple California counties red!
California celebrates other victories as well. State-wide, Californians have backed Proposition 36, reinforcing law and order! Here in El Dorado County, Kevin Kiley and Tom McClintock have been reelected for their seats in the U.S. House of Representatives, and Joe Patterson was reelected as our California Assemblyman! Add to this, multiple wins for Republicans in local elections as well.
While we take the time to celebrate, though, we must remain alert. Ballots are still being counted in many areas, particularly here in California. It is crucial that we pay attention to how these elections are progressing, and continue to express our support for all Republican candidates.
President Trump has won the popular vote, making him a clear choice via pure democracy. However, legacy media often refers to him as a “threat to democracy”, suggesting we have very different ideas of what democracy means. Of course, our nation is a Constitutional Republic, meaning that the President had to win Electoral votes, per our Constitution, which he did as well. By winning both the Electoral Votes and the popular vote, President Trump is the clear choice of the American people!
Since we do have a Constitutional Republic, it is important to understand that those on the left view the word Constitution very differently then we would normally understand it. While we would try to understand the meaning of The Constitution as it was written by our Founders, the understanding on the left is generally that The Constitution is a fluctuating document open to the interpretation of the reader, rather than any original intent of the authors. Thus, when we hear comments like “I swore an oath to The Constitution”, those on the left likely have a very different understanding of what that means than we would naturally think.
As we go through the next few months, there may be heated discussions directed at President Trump using words with inaccurate meanings designed to undermine his victory. But again, President Trump is the clear winner, both as outlined in our Constitution and by democratic vote. Let's continue to show our support for our freely elected President.
This has been a week of exciting victory and a significant step toward the healing of our nation on many levels! We congratulate all our reelected and newly-elected Republican candidates who have worked so hard these last few months! And thank you to all who made this possible by volunteering and voting! But while we celebrate, make sure to remember, there is more work to do to realize the vision for which Americans all across the country, including here in California, have voted.
